Hardware Development Manager/Project Lead will be responsible for coordinating and managing team members and leading multiple hardware design projects of Broadband CPE devices.
Strong RF background required in this role with preference on candidates with Cable RF, IoT Radios and Wifi systems and Antenna systems knowledge and experience.
Responsible for overall electronic and mechanical design of given projects, including managing and coordinating among all the other hardware engineers on the project team.
Be involved early in the product design life-cycle, starting from supporting the end-customer RFI response and help defining the best hardware architecture choices for the end-customer, in close collaboration with the Hardware Architecture team.
Translate the customer product requirements into hardware specifications
Coordinate with the engineering team to design the product to the right cost and quality level for the specifications
Select and assess suitability and reliability of electronic components
Drive the schematic and layout design with the engineering team including doing direct circuit design of responsible areas
Check and approve the BOM
Define the hardware test plans and test methods, review and approve the hardware test results, conduct testing as needed
Maintain product documentation
Interact with Application, Software, Mechanical and other Electronic Engineers to meet customer/system requirements of hardware designs as well as cost and quality metrics
Assist other members of the hardware group and/or other project teams
Perform failure analysis of electronic circuits. Issue report on findings as well as recommendations on opportunities for continuous improvement
Coordinate on supporting, developing and maintaining the hardware schedule for the project
Support project teams in customer support and interaction
Required Education / Desired Experience / Desired Skills:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree
Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in hardware design, preferably on large volume products
Experience in project management a plus
Experience testing and troubleshooting electronic circuits
Experience in designing products to meet EMC, regulatory, and safety requirements
Experience in RF and/or Microprocessors/Memory a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
Skilled in organizing, prioritizing and coordinating working relationships with all levels of personnel within andoutside of the organization.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Some domestic and international travel to plants, test facilities, and/or customer facilities may be required.
